Gallery Byzantium’s Holy Resurrection cross is a beautiful Neo-Byzantine cross. The images are from the Byzantine and Slavic period, but the framing is distinctively of the late 19th century. This cross features a beautiful image of Christ crucified on the front with St. Mary Magdalene and the Mother of God mourning the crucifixion of Christ. The old Slavonic letters on the left and right of Christ’s halo mean “Jesus Christ Son of God”. “king of Glory” is the Slavonic abbreviation at the top of the cross. IC XC (Jesus Christ) is on the left and right sides of the cross. At the base of the cross is the skull of Adam with the letters MLRB for “the place of the skull has become Paradise” and then the letters NIKA (He conquers). On the reverse is the old Slavonic verse (psalm 68), “Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered…”

What does gold-filled mean?
Gold-filled jewelry is much more valuable than gold-plated. In fact, there is almost 100 percent more gold in gold-filled items than found in gold-plated items. Gold-filled jewelry is best used where longevity and durability are a must. Just as gold-plated jewelry is plated with gold, gold-filled jewelry is as well, but there is a big difference between the ways these products are made.
Gold-filled is legally required to contain 5% or 1/20 gold by weight. It is constructed in two or three layers. Gold alloy is bonded with heat and pressure to one or both surfaces of the core metal (typically jewelers’ brass).
You won't need to worry about gold-filled jewelry tarnishing, and even if you have an allergy to certain metals, you won't have to worry about allergies from metals such as nickel. Gold-filled items have a much thicker layer of gold on them, and the gold is a much higher quality. In fact, it is just a step down from solid gold when it comes to quality.
The biggest difference between Gold Plated and Gold Filled Jewelry? You can wear gold filled jewelry in the shower! That’s right – you can leave it on without the gold rubbing off like plated jewelry. No more worrying if you accidentally forget to take it off before washing your hands - in fact, washing your gold-filled jewelry with soap and water is how you keep it shiny and new!
