This prayer bracelet has a uniqueness that makes it special to every pious Christian. The beads come from a plant known as the “Tear of the Virgin Mary.” This plant sprouted miraculously under the Cross of Jesus Christ during the terrible yet glorious hour of His crucifixion. It grew from the compassionate tears of the Virgin Mary, which sprang from the enormous pain and love of the earthly Mother of God Incarnate, Who was sacrificed for man’s salvation.
This prayer rope is therefore a symbol of the sorrow, the pain, and the tears of the Virgin Mary, the Mother of our God, manifest in the seeds of this unique plant.This was revealed in a miraculous way - there was a pious monk who was unable to learn how to make prayer rope knots out of wool. With much pain of heart and many tears he prayed to the Panagia, and she, as a most compassionate mother, appeared in front of him and asked, “Why are you so sad?” To which he replied with awe, “Because on my own I cannot learn how to make a prayer rope.” She, as a sympathetic mother, gave him the seeds of this plant and said, “My child, take my tears, cultivate them, and make prayer ropes with which men may say the prayer of the heart.”
